Application Industries of High Resistance FEP/PFA Encapsulated O-ring Strips Tapes for Sealing

FEP/PFA Encapsulated O-ring Strips are used on railway locomotives, automobiles, aircraft, high-rise buildings, refrigerators and various industrial parts to prevent external dust, air, water, etc. from entering the system as a rubber sealing element.

Considering the performance requirements of aging resistance, oil resistance, heat resistance, flame resistance, sunlight resistance, ozone resistance, acid and alkali resistance, chemical reagent resistance, flame retardancy, etc., neoprene, ethylene-propylene rubber, silicone rubber, natural-chloroprene rubber are generally used - SBR rubber, rubber-plastic compound and other rubber materials with excellent aging resistance are manufactured.

The seal is mainly made of plastic, partially covered with rubber. During the inspection of the part, the customer found that the plastic part was easily broken during the test, and concluded that the plastic part was damaged during the overmolding (that is, the rubber covering the plastic part). After our analysis, it was found that the plastic parts were all broken in one place. Through finite element analysis, we found that the damaged part of the plastic part is actually the place where the seal is subjected to the greatest stress, which is far beyond what the plastic can bear.
