Burst Disc

Bursting disc is an **overpressure protection device**, mainly used in ISO liquid tank containers (ISO Tank Container) or other pressure vessels. Its core function is to automatically rupture** when the system pressure **exceeds the safety threshold, release the pressure, and prevent the tank from exploding or being damaged due to overpressure.

**Specific functions include:**
1. **Safety pressure relief**: When the pressure in the tank increases suddenly due to temperature rise, chemical reaction or operating error, the bursting disc ruptures instantly, quickly releases pressure, and protects the tank structure and sealing system.
2. **Prevent pollution**: Compared with the safety valve, the bursting disc is a **one-time sealing design**, with no leakage risk, and is particularly suitable for toxic, flammable or high-purity media (such as chemicals, liquefied gas).
3. **Economical and reliable**: Simple structure, no maintenance required, lower cost than complex safety valves, and faster response speed (milliseconds).
4. **Compliance**: Meet international standards (such as ASME, PED) to ensure the legality of tank containers in the transportation of dangerous goods.

**Typical application scenarios**: liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquid chemicals, cryogenic liquids (such as liquid nitrogen) transport tanks. Bursting discs are the last line of defense for pressure safety and need to be checked and replaced regularly.
